Luxury Self-Catering in the Heart of Dartmoor.
Lower Venton Farm
Lower Venton Farm is an especially peaceful place to stay, part of a small hamlet set just off a sleepy country lane less than half a mile from Widecombe in the Moor.
Dartmoor ponies may be seen trotting past the gate and yet you are within easy reach of many of South Devon's main attractions. There are moorland walks from the doorstep and riding stables just down the lane offer stunning treks across Dartmoor for riders of all abilities.
A five-minute stroll takes you to “The Rugglestone Inn”, our closest local pub serving real ale and a menu featuring locally sourced, home cooked produce. The village of Widecombe In the Moor, well-known for its annual fair, is a further five-minute walk. There you can enjoy brunch or a cream tea at “The Cafe on the Green”, pick up a souvenir at the gift shop or relax over a pint at “The Old Inn”. Lower Venton has everything you could hope for in a country break.

Your Hosts
We have lived and worked on Dartmoor for over 25 years. We raised our family here and were lucky enough to be able to enjoy this beautiful place with its rugged tors, woodland walks, amazing views over open moorland and it's rural communities.
We look forward to welcoming you to Dartmoor!
